The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, has dismissed reports suggesting internal divisions within the opposition party, declaring the PDP as united and fully intact.
Speaking on Monday during the 100th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party held in Abuja, Mohammed insisted that there are no factions, coalitions, or parallel structures within the PDP. He said the party remains focused on good governance and rebuilding public confidence.
“The PDP is not fragmented in any way. There is no element of wrangling in the state chapters. That is where our strength lies,” he said, commending the Board of Trustees (BoT), National Assembly caucuses, and state chapters for keeping the party united and effective, particularly at the grassroots level.
The governor dismissed recent media reports of defections and internal rifts as false and misleading, describing them as “cosmetic” and aimed at tarnishing the party’s image.
“The news of people leaving the party is all cosmetic. They were created to diminish us, but they have failed,” he said.
Mohammed also rejected the idea of any parallel meetings or unofficial coalitions within the PDP, stressing that the party leadership is united behind the National Working Committee (NWC).
“There is no excuse for coalition or parallel stakeholders’ meetings. We are all on the same page with the NWC. The party leadership is working in full alignment,” he stated.

“We will not disappoint Nigerians. We remain committed to our role as the conscience of the nation and will continue working together to ensure the PDP succeeds,” he said.
