The Supreme Court has fixed April 22 to hear an appeal arising from the leadership crisis in the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The appeal was filed by a factional national chairman, David Mark, who is challenging earlier court decisions on the dispute.
Mark is contesting the March 12 judgment of the Court of Appeal, which dismissed his appeal against a September 4, 2025 ruling by Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The lower court had refused to grant requests made in an ex-parte application filed by ADC chieftain, Nafiu Bala Gombe.
On Tuesday, a five-member panel of the Supreme Court led by Mohammed Garba granted an accelerated hearing of the case and fixed April 22 for the substantive hearing.

The court also gave strict timelines for the exchange of legal documents. It directed Mark’s lawyer, Jibril Okutepa (SAN), to file and serve his client’s brief by Wednesday.
Respondents in the case are to file their replies within three days of receiving the appellant’s brief, while Mark’s team has one day to respond after being served.
The case is part of the ongoing legal battle over control of the ADC leadership. Further proceedings are expected on the scheduled date.
