Former Anambra State Governor and Senator, Chris Ngige, on Thursday attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, hours after securing his release from Kuje Correctional Centre.
Ngige, a former Minister of Labour and Employment, had been remanded in Kuje prison over corruption allegations filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He was granted bail earlier in the day and subsequently met the bail conditions, paving the way for his release.

The former governor arrived at the State House Conference Centre after President Bola Tinubu had already taken his seat.
Security officials initially stopped him on arrival, but later cleared him to join other party leaders at the meeting.

Ngige’s appearance drew cheers from some presidential aides present at the venue.
The APC caucus meeting brought together senior government officials and party leaders to deliberate on key political and governance issues.

The Federal Capital Territory High Court in Gwarinpa, Abuja, on Thursday ordered that former Minister of Labour and Employment Chris Ngige continue to enjoy the administrative bail previously granted to him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The ruling was delivered by Justice Maryam Hassan following a bail application filed on behalf of Ngige by his lead counsel, Patrick Ikwueto (SAN).
The court had earlier remanded Ngige in Kuje Prison over an alleged 2.14 billion contract fraud.
