NAF Strikes Crush ISWAP Base, Destroy Ammo Dump in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has wiped out a major Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) hideout in the Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.

The air raids also destroyed a large ammunition depot used by the terror group.

The Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai launched the strikes on Sunday after tracking ISWAP fighters regrouping in the Arinna Waje area.

Surveillance had picked up signs of renewed terrorist activity just five days after a bloody clash between ISWAP and rival Boko Haram fighters.

Precision Strikes After Intelligence Tip-Off

Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared the update on X (formerly Twitter), citing military sources. He said NAF jets hit the targets with high accuracy after days of monitoring.

“NAF aircraft scrambled quickly and bombed the identified camps in a series of planned attacks,” Makama reported. “The strikes wiped out multiple ISWAP shelters and supply hubs. One airstrike caused a secondary explosion, showing we hit their main arms store.”

Commanders Killed, Arms Depot Blown Up

The explosions confirmed that the jets struck a key ammunition site. Several top ISWAP commanders also died in the attacks, according to security sources. Their names were not yet released.

Military officials said the assault is part of a wider effort to clear terror groups from the Lake Chad and Sambisa axis.

NAF, working with ground troops and intelligence teams, promised to maintain pressure on the terrorists and prevent any resurgence in the region.
