Manchester United Appoint Darren Fletcher as Interim Manager After Amorim’s Exit

Manchester United have named U18 coach Darren Fletcher as interim manager of the senior team following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim on Monday.

Amorim was relieved of his duties after a meeting with the club’s Director of Football, Jason Wilcox, and Chief Executive, Omar Berrada, at Carrington earlier in the day.

The club hierarchy informed the 40-year-old of the decision during the meeting.

Afterward, Amorim said his goodbyes to the players before leaving the club’s training ground.

Fletcher is expected to take charge of the Red Devils for Wednesday’s Premier League clash against Burnley, as the club begins the search for a permanent replacement.

Manchester United currently sit sixth on the Premier League table with 31 points after 20 matches.
