Jos Attack: We will find the killers, Tinubu Vows

TINUBU IN JOS

President Bola Tinubu has assured families of victims of Sunday’s deadly attack in Jos, Plateau State, that efforts are underway to prevent a recurrence.

The attack, which left at least 28 people dead and 22 others injured, has drawn widespread condemnation across the country.

Tinubu gave the assurance on Thursday during a visit to Jos, where he met with government officials, traditional rulers, security chiefs and affected families.

“To the victims, there is nothing I can give you, whether in billions of naira, but I can console you and promise that this experience will not repeat itself,” he said.

The President spoke directly to a woman seen in a viral video holding her deceased son after the attack, expressing sympathy over her loss.

“I know your pain; I saw in the video how you held on to your son and felt the agony in your heart. Only God can give you joy and comfort. No amount of money can compensate for your loss,” he said.

Tinubu Assures Support Toward Restoring Peace

Tinubu said the Federal Government would continue to support affected families and work towards restoring peace in the area.

He stressed that his administration was elected on the promise of peace and prosperity, adding that it was focused on preventing further violence rather than only offering condolences.

RELETED NEWS:

Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, described the incident as a “temporary setback,” expressing confidence that the state would overcome its security challenges.

He commended security agencies for their efforts, noting that many of their operations often go unnoticed by the public.

Mutfwang also assured that with continued collaboration between the state government and security forces, Plateau would return to peace, stability and development.
