The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned celebrities, social media influencers, and content creators against using public roads to record or live-stream content, citing serious safety risks and legal violations.
The warning followed a viral video showing TikToker Peller live-streaming while driving, which resulted in a road crash.
FRSC Corps Marshal Mallam Shehu Mohammed, in a statement signed by spokesperson Olusegun Ogungbemide, said using phones while driving distracts drivers, endangers lives, and breaches traffic laws.

The Corps Marshal stressed that the FRSC will take legal action against anyone engaging in reckless or distracted driving. The Lagos State Sector Commander has been directed to initiate proceedings.
The FRSC also urged entertainment associations, actor guilds, influencer networks, and content creator communities to educate members on safe driving.
“Celebrities and influencers wield enormous influence, especially among young Nigerians, and must be seen as ambassadors of safety, not symbols of recklessness,” Mohammed said.

He reiterated that the FRSC will enforce the law without exception. “No social media content, online trend or momentary clout is worth a human life,” the statement concluded.
