NPF Elevates Adejobi, Deploys Him to Delta State

The Nigeria Police Force has elevated Olumuyiwa Adejobi to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and deployed him as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Delta State Command.

DCP Adejobi, who until recently served as the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), received his new rank following approval by the Police Service Commission. According to the Force Headquarters, his redeployment is strategic, placing him at the helm of operations in one of the country’s most operationally sensitive commands.

The elevation dispels recent media reports, suggesting that Adejobi was “controversially removed” as Force PRO. Police authorities emphasized that the transition is neither punitive nor controversial but part of routine career progression and deployment of senior officers.

The Force noted that DCP Adejobi brings extensive experience in public communication, operational management, and community policing. “The deployment of officers is a normal administrative procedure in the Nigeria Police Force. DCP Adejobi’s record of professionalism, commitment, and service excellence made him a natural fit for this crucial operational responsibility.”

As DCP Operations, Delta State, Adejobi will coordinate security operations, tackle violent crimes, and strengthen police-community relations across the state, a critical theatre in Nigeria’s internal security architecture.
