Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have rescued 12 kidnapped persons – seven women and five children – who were abducted by Boko Haram along the Gwoza–Limankara Road in Borno State on November 14.
The Nigerian Army confirmed the rescue on Tuesday via its official X account. The victims were freed on Sunday during a clearance operation in the Mandara Mountains under Operation Desert Sanity IV and Diligent Search.
The 26 Task Force Brigade, supported by hybrid forces, hunters, and vigilantes, engaged insurgents, forcing them to flee and abandon the captives. Initially, the victims scattered into nearby bushes but were later located during a sweep around 8:45 a.m.
