The Accord Party in Osun State has confirmed that Governor Ademola Adeleke has been successfully documented and listed as its duly nominated candidate for the August 8, 2026, governorship election.
The party disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday in Osogbo by its chairman, Pastor Victor Akande.
Akande said the confirmation followed the completion of all documentation and submission processes with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which has now listed Adeleke as the Accord Party’s candidate for the poll.
Party Hails Milestone Ahead of Election
Akande described the development as a major milestone in the party’s preparations for the forthcoming election.
He said: “We are pleased to formally inform the good people of Osun State that His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has been successfully uploaded into the records of INEC as the Accord Party’s candidate.”
According to him, the confirmation has put to rest concerns surrounding the party’s nomination process ahead of the 2026 governorship contest scheduled by INEC.

The Accord chairman also acknowledged the support received by the party and its candidate from residents and members across the state since preparations for the election began.
“We appreciate the overwhelming support, solidarity and confidence reposed in the party and in Governor Ademola Adeleke by the people of Osun State,” Akande said.
He urged party supporters and eligible voters in the state to remain focused on the electoral process ahead of the poll, calling on residents of voting age to ensure they are registered with INEC and have obtained their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the August 8, 2026 election.
