The M23 rebel group denied stealing millions of dollars in gold from a mine in South Kivu. At the same time, the group accused government forces of breaking the ceasefire.
Twangiza Mining Company said this week that M23 took over 500 kilos of gold from its concession.
The company claimed the rebels used Rwandan geologists to locate the mineral, valuing the loot at more than $70 million.
M23 coordinator Corneille Nangaa rejected the allegations. He said the mine was run by artisanal miners, not an industrial company.
