Nigeria’s Economy Expands for 11th Consecutive Month - CBN Report

Nigeria’s economy recorded its eleventh consecutive month of expansion in October 2025, according to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), which rose to 55.4 points from 54.0 points in September.

The CBN report highlighted growth across the industry, services, and agriculture sectors.

The industry sector PMI reached 54.2 points, with 9 of 17 subsectors reporting growth.

The services sector expanded for the ninth consecutive month at 55.6 points, led by 11 of 14 subsectors. Agriculture recorded its fifteenth month of growth at 55.7 points, with all five subsectors showing expansion.

The report noted that 25 out of 36 subsectors across the three main sectors posted growth, with Educational Services leading, while only 11 subsectors contracted, most notably Petroleum & Coal Products. Despite these contractions, the broad-based expansion across most sectors sustained overall economic growth.

This performance underscores a strong and resilient recovery, reflecting diversified contributions from key sectors of Nigeria’s economy.
