APC Remains best Option for Kwankwaso, Party Dismisses NNPP as Regional Experiment

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2023 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) have written to President Bola Tinubu, protesting their exclusion from government appointments and patronage.

They warned that the neglect of those who worked for the party’s electoral victory could undermine the APC’s strength ahead of the 2027 elections.

The concerns were raised in an open letter dated August 18, 2025, and signed by Alhaji Mohammed Mariam Alhassan, who leads the group.

While congratulating the President, APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and other leaders on the party’s victories in recent bye-elections, Alhassan described the outcome as proof of Tinubu’s “political doggedness, strategic leadership, and commitment to democratic consolidation.”

He, however, cautioned that many PCC members who carried the party’s message across the country during the 2023 general election had been left out of appointments, a situation he described as a “strategic vulnerability” for the ruling party.

“In politics, the greatest asset ahead of an election is a fully motivated and united base. When key contributors feel valued, they double their efforts; when they feel overlooked, they disengage. Disengagement at this level creates openings for opponents to exploit,” Alhassan stated.

The group urged the President to deliberately increase the inclusion of PCC members in government, saying such a move would reward loyalty and strengthen the APC’s political machinery for 2027.

According to the letter, empowering campaign stakeholders would neutralize internal dissent, reinforce party unity, and serve as an investment in the stability of Tinubu’s administration.

The PCC members also stressed that “2027 is closer than it appears,” calling on the President to consolidate alliances and secure his political legacy.
