6 Barcelona Stars, Including Rashford, Face Registration Delays

FC Barcelona may begin the new LaLiga season with a depleted squad as six key players, including high-profile loan signing Marcus Rashford, are yet to be officially registered with the league due to ongoing financial constraints.

According to the report, the Spanish champions are once again grappling with La Liga’s stringent financial fair play regulations, which have delayed the registration process for several players.

Rashford, who joined Barcelona on a season-long loan from Manchester United this summer, is among those hoping to secure eligibility before the season opener. The delay raises concerns that the England international, brought in to bolster Barca’s attacking line, might not be available when the new campaign kicks off.

This is not the first time the Catalan giants have faced such issues. Last season, players like Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor were initially registered under temporary licences.

However, those were later revoked by La Liga during the January transfer window, leaving the club scrambling for solutions mid-season.

Despite the uncertainty, club president Joan Laporta remains optimistic. Speaking to ESPN, he said:

“It’s progressing well. We’re doing our job, and we’re confident that we’ll be able to register everyone.”

Laporta’s confidence, however, does little to ease the anxiety among fans, especially with the new season just days away and the club still navigating salary cap limitations and unresolved sponsorship deals.

While the full list of affected players remains undisclosed, sources suggest that at least six individuals are currently at risk, placing Barcelona’s squad depth in question ahead of a tightly contested La Liga race.
