The All Progressives Congress (APC), has accused former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, of being the major problem facing the opposition in Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the ruling party dismissed Tambuwal’s allegation that President Bola Tinubu was plotting to destabilise opposition parties.
Morka said both the president and the APC were fully focused on governance and had no time to interfere in what he described as “broken opposition parties.”
Pinnacle Daily recalls that Tambuwal, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, had, in a recent television interview, alleged that Tinubu and the APC were scheming to weaken opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections. He vowed to collaborate with other leaders to challenge the ruling party at the polls.

Responding, Morka said Tambuwal and other opposition figures had failed to back their claims with evidence, accusing them instead of engaging in political blackmail and being consumed by the quest for power.
“With nothing of value to offer Nigerians, these opposition elements have now turned political prophets, trumpeting their base wishes and 2027 predictions that only truly portend the devastating defeat that awaits them at the voting thumbs of the good Nigerian electorate,” Morka stated.
He further claimed that opposition leaders, including Tambuwal, Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi, had failed to provide effective leadership for their parties, which he described as rudderless and weakened by internal contradictions.
